FAQ
Is my resume uploaded?
No. Your PDF is read and scored in your browser. Only the bullets you send to an AI rewrite, or the text for a cover-letter draft, go to our server; they are processed once and not stored.
How is the match score worked out?
Half of it is the hard skills the ad asks for (tools, methods, certifications), weighted up when they're under "Requirements" and down under "Nice to have". The rest is other keywords, the job title, standard sections, contact details in the text, length and how many bullets show numbers. The breakdown is shown with every score, and the same inputs always give the same score.
Will this guarantee I pass an ATS?
No tool can promise that; every employer's system and recruiter is different. Tailorwren shows what the ad asks for, what your resume shows, and whether a typical ATS can read your PDF in order (it flags image-only PDFs and two-column layouts).
Does the AI invent experience?
It is told to use only facts from your bullet, and any rewrite that adds a number your original didn't have is thrown away. Still, read every line: only keep what is true for you.
Are the AI features always on?
They run on a shared daily AI allowance with fair-use caps (Pro: up to 60 rewrites and 10 cover drafts a day). On a very busy day the allowance can run out; the app says so and it resets at 00:00 UTC. Scans, the full missing-keyword list and the ATS-safe PDF don't use AI and always work.
Why not Jobscan?
Jobscan is the best-known scanner. Tailorwren is lighter: no account, your resume stays in your browser, and Pro costs $12 a month or $29 for 3 months.
How do I cancel?
Open Manage subscription with your key: Stripe's billing portal lets you cancel or change your card. Lifetime keys never renew.
